Family: He considers the hotel staff to be his family.

Personality: L is intelligent and analytical. He likes debating with others and solving puzzles. L has a dry sense of humor and can be a bit of a tsundere. He has a serious sweet tooth and has really odd habits, such as remaining in a gargoyle position, even though he's a human and only picking things up with his thumb and index finger. He comes off as socially awkward and has plenty of bad habits. Another one of these is that he can get too invested in his work. Despite this, he can be a bit of a loner. He doesn't trust humans because of what they did to his people, but he can still tolerate their presence.
Background: Way before being hired by Dracula, Lawliet was a much happier person. He was a part of a clan of gargoyles that appreciated being around each other and serving their community as protectors of humankind while they slept. One day, the humans grew suspicious and fearful of gargoyles. They found them to be sources of evil rather than creatures who protected them from demonic forces. They went to the highest clutches of the cathedral and smashed L's clan one by one with the back of a shovel; this stopped when Lawliet was the final one. Lawliet escaped the fearful humans' clutches and flew far away from them, butt now, he was a changed gargoyle. He knew there were other clans out there, but they would never accept him. A gargoyle without a clan was utterly shameful. In his embarrassment, he flew away from his old home, hoping to forget the pain from there.
Along his travels, he encountered a castle in the distance. Curious, he came closer and went inside. It looked empty enough, so he decided to look around some until he was caught by Dracula. He simply explained that he had nowhere else to stay and was looking for some purpose. Lawliet told him about what happened to his clan, and the vampire accepted him, adding him to his staff as a watchman.
Hidden Secrets: He enjoys children and would do anything to keep a hair on their head… especially human children. He just won’t admit it though...
